Two international sporting events will be held in Friuli Venezia Giulia over the weekend of the 12th and 13th of March.

Two international sporting events will be held in Friuli Venezia Giulia over the weekend of the 12th and 13th of March. Two important test events for the upcoming competitions of the FVG 2023 European Youth Winter Olympic Festival.

In Piancavallo the snowboard world cup with Olympic and world athletes, including the Italian champion Roland Fischnaller. An important media event which will be live streamed on RAI SPORT and other broadcasters connected from more than 20 foreign countries.

Sappada will host the 2022 Opa Cup and Games, a two-day international Nordic skiing event featuring 400 athletes aged 14 and over from around the world.

At the press conference in Udine on Friday the 4th of March, on the occasion of the presentation of the Piancavallo 2022 Snowboard World Cup, Regional Councillor Sergio Emidio Bini said that the link between sport and tourism is essential for the continued growth of Friuli Venezia Giulia, while Maurizio Dunnhofer, President of Eyof 2023, stressed the importance of these events in perfecting the organisational apparatus in the various ski centres and competition venues in order to be ready for the event in January 2023.
